About this script
Select a layer, set the loop length and click Make Loop. For particles (Stardust, Particular, CC Particle World and others) the emitter runs for one loop length and then switches off, the last particles die out, and that whole run is folded back onto itself. Fractal Noise and Turbulent Noise fade up from black over one loop and back down over the next, Unmult makes the black transparent, and the two halves are folded together. Anything else is crossfaded with itself. The layer is replaced by "<name> Loop", a comp one loop long plus one buffer frame: an 8 second loop at 60 fps runs from 0:00 to 8:00 and the 8:00 frame matches 0:00, ready to render as a loop file. Your comp keeps its length, the longer run stays in "<name> Loop Source", and one Undo takes it all back. Install it as a dockable panel.
What it does
- One click: select a layer, set the loop length, Make Loop
- Particles: the emitter stops after one loop and the run folds back onto itself
- Reads how long the particles live from the effect, Life Random included
- Fractal and Turbulent Noise fade up from black and back, with Unmult for transparency
- Any other layer is crossfaded with itself
- A loop comp one loop long, plus a buffer frame that matches the first
- Option to repeat the loop for the layer's full length (Time Remap)
- Copies cameras and lights for 3D particles
- Clears Pre-run so the loop doesn't jump
- Set the type, particle life and noise black level yourself under Options
- One Undo takes it all back
- Docks as a panel in After Effects
